Chief Interview and Conditional Job Offer

The Chief reviews every background file and interviews every employee of the Irvine Police Department. Be prepared to sell yourself on what makes you qualified for the job and why you are choosing the Irvine Police Department. If successful, you will receive a conditional job offer (CJO) and will be eligible for the final two steps (medical and psych).

Upon receiving a Conditional Job Offer (CJO), you must complete a thorough medical evaluation during an appointment with a department-assigned physician at our local urgent care facility. Staff will perform a comprehensive exam to evaluate your fitness and health to perform the job. Aside from your vitals, hearing, and vision, you will also be asked to provide laboratory blood samples for a general health assessment. Additionally, you will be required to pass the cardio stress test performed on a treadmill successfully.
